Broadberry Direct-Attached Storage appliances, also known as JBOD's (Just A Bunch Of Disks) easily and cost-effectively expand the storage of any server with an external SAS port.
Once connected, Broadberry DAS storage appliances are seen as though the additional storage provided is internal to the server or workstation, this basic, direct connectivity between the server and the DAS unit ensures easy set-up and fantastic performance.
This means Microsoft Windows or any other compatible operating system will see the device as an internal device, which can then be partitioned and formatted just like any other internal hard drive or raid array.
The Broadberry CyberStore DAS is connected directly using the latest SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) technology, so the device is as fast, and in most cases even faster, than the drives that are already inside the Server or workstation.

The MegaRAID SAS 9380-8e delivers two 1.2GHz PowerPC® processor cores and a 72-bit DDR3 interface that drives 1GB cache memory. In the event of a physical drive failure, the drive is placed in shield state and the MegaRAID controller starts drive diagnostics to determine if the drive is indeed failed or can be restored. This saves you time, money and lost compute time associated with transient drive failures.

The Cyberstor DAS Storage Systems can be daisy chained together to create one or many central storage pools. All attached storage units can be managed as if they were one large unit with up to 128 drives per SAS port.
And you don’t have to stop at 128 drives, as you have an option for dual port PCI-Express or PCI-X SAS Controllers, and you can also have as many controllers as your server or workstation can support, so having 512 Drives attached and managed by one server or workstation is no longer an impossible mission.
