Arch Linux essentially comes as a barebone operating system without much on it. With most storage server operating systems, new versions are regularly released every 6 months to a year, which you need to upgrade to. Where Arch Linux differs is that you never have to fully upgrade to a newer version. You simply get updates via download, it works entirely on rolling releases.
